This award is presented to a Youth member of the New England Paint Horse Club who through her actions and words demonstrates responsibility, respect and good sportsmanship during competition. This years recipient helped initiate and co-authored the first All Youth Newsletter. She volunteered to contact other youth for bake sales, meetings and other club sponsored activities. She repeatedly volunteers to work at the shows and did whatever was needed to get a job done. She scribed for the judges, helped with the dog races and served strawberry shortcakes for hours. Most importantly, she is always supportive of her peers and is truly happy for them when they win.

What Is Good Sportsmanship?
Good sportsmanship is when teammates, opponents, and coaches treat each other with respect. We learn these basics as children from the adults in our lives. When we witness people behaving in a sportsmanlike way gradually come to understand that the real winners in sports are those who know how to persevere and to behave with dignity — whether they win or not. Good Sportsmanship also involves devoting your time and support in activities around you.
