Welcome to Poorhouse Quilt Designs!

Visit us  in Minneapolis at Spring Quilt Market - Booth Number 1515!

I have added 2 methods to customize your handmade bags - click here for instructions on adding magnetic snaps and adding a security pocket.

Spotlight on the Friday Bag:

The Friday bag is relaxed - just right for Friday. It has 2 outer pockets and 2 inner pockets of your choice. It can be quilted, reversible, embellished, pieced, painted, couched, you name it! We will be featuring different techniques on our blog "Quilting at the Poorhouse" which will give you new ideas for having fun with the Friday bag.

The pattern features full size patterns for you to cut out and use, the assembly is easy, and there are suggestions for quilting and embellishing.

What else is NEW? Kits are available for this tote! You can purchase the tote pattern here, and purchase the kit at Yolanda Fundora's Urban-Amish website.

Pick up the latest issue of Fabric Trends (Fall 2009) - Barbara Campbell created the Welcome Home quilt, using Blank Textile's Sketchbook by Yolanda Fundora - and Sew and Go Totes are featured in the project photo! You can also see some of my totes on the front cover of this issue!

You won't want to miss Sew and Go Totes (9 Quilted Projects Designed by Kristine Poor of Poorhouse Quilt Designs) - my book is now available through this website, Leisure Arts, distributors and other retail locations. Our book features a wide array of quilted projects including tote bags, duffle bags, backpacks and purses. The projects feature machine quilting and are just perfect for personalizing to suit your taste! Many of the projects can be made using some of your scrap stash - check it out! Customer favorites include the Star Sampler Tote from the front cover and Border Backpack:
